Sweet & Spicy Roasted Nuts

Happy day! Totally the answer to that sweet and salty craving or topped on a salad or roasted veggies! This 'recipe' is probably one that I'm asked for the most. And it's for sure one that I change up the most depending on my mood. Please feel free to change up the spices or increase/decrease the heat level and/or sweeteners. It is so flexible and I promise, you'll be whipping up a second and third batch in no time! Make and share!!

Preheat oven to 375.

Whisk together the following:

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • a few grinds of black peppercorns

  • 2 Tbsp oil of choice

  • 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup

  • 1 Tbsp honey

  • 1 Tbsp fresh squeezed orange juice

Pour the seasoning sauce over the blend of mixed nuts listed below. Make sure the nuts are all coated with the goodness. The seeds get stuck on the nuts while roasting and create a texture gift! Again, feel free to swap out with your favorites nut blends.

  • 2 cups whole almonds

  • 1 cup pecan halves

  • 1 cup sliced almonds

  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Roast at 375 for 14-16 minutes. Toss after 8 minutes. Watch closely toward the end so they won't burn. However, the toastier the better for me!
